Armani will this month launch his latest sunglass venture, a series of eyewear for A/X Armani Exchange, in the latest example of his ambitions for this line.
The launch tightens the links between Armani and Gruppo Safilo, the Italian eyewear giant that produces eye glasses for Emporio Armani and the designer’s signature collection.
The A/X collection comes three years after Armani switched licensors in this sector. Until then, Armani eyewear had been manufactured by Safilo’s major rival Luxottica. However, determined to impose a strict distribution of his eyewear, Armani discontinued his agreement with Luxottica, after that company began retailing his shades and glasses in Sunglass Hut, the large US chain that it owns.

Canadian fashionista and technophiles flocked to Windsor Arms hotel last night as LG Electronics Canada unveiled its long-awaited Chocolate Phone Series last night in a gala event.
Chocolate Phone Series was officially unwrapped and strutted down the catwalk by models wearing Montreal couture label SHAN’s 2007 swimwear and lingerie collection in a sexy runway show.
According to the survey conducted by LG and Ipsos-Reid Canada (October 4-10, 2006), nearly half (47 per cent) of Canadians polled between the ages of 18 and 35 already agree that a cell phone should be stylish.
